House of the Open Door
Some of the Cursillo community here in Liverpool met for a retreat with Cursillistas from other dioceses in England. The 2-day retreat was held in the beautiful ‘House of the Open Door’ in Evesham. It was a chance to rekindle relationships with fellow Cursillistas from other dioceses in the country such as Shrewsbury, Hallam and Birmingham. This time gave us the chance to gather in prayer but to also discuss events and other practicalities that the Cursillo teams hope to plan for the up and coming year. The 2 days were beautiful, especially given the fresh surroundings of greenery and peace of the location. We took part in paired ‘Walks to Emmaeus’, attended daily Mass and listened to talks given by our National Spiritual Director Fr Michael. It was so nice to gather together with our wider Cursillo family! De Colores! |
Northern Catholic Conference
It was great to see many cursillistas attending the conference both from our own diocese and also many different parts of the country.
We had some fantastic feedback for the new merchandise available on our stall and lots of interest from people in attending a weekend and becoming part of our Cursillo family.
Once again, it was great to share the stall area with Sr. Cathy from the Pauline Bookshop on Bold Street; she always contributes to creating a great atmosphere along with the Missionaries of Charity Sisters on Seel Street with their new Mother Superior, Sr. Anjela.
Sr. Brigid from the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur also had a stall and was there with one of the Sisters from Brazil who happened to be part of the Cursillo movement in Brazil. She took one of our 'Bloom where you are Planted' bags with her to share with the community over there.

Cursillo 108, May 2014
Another fabulous and fruitful weekend was had by all, it literally had us jumping for joy! One of our new cursillistas, Martin from Warrington said, "I was immersed in a like minded Christian community. The short course is filled with wisdom and emphasised with wonderful testimonies. A great experience and wholly recommended." |
